MISTABEE INTERVYOU.

WORD UP SONS, THE MASTER OF MULTIS WITH THE SMOOTHEST FLOW IN SCOTLAND CATCHES UP WIT MISTABEE TO TALK ABOUT LESBIANS, PIGEONS AND MOTHERFUCKIN SHEDS!

YOUR MOST KNOWN FOR YOUR WORK ON THE MISS CONCEPTION MIXTAPE. HOW DID YOU, DONNIE C AND EVADE POD COME ABOUT WORKIN TOGETHER?

Donnie, dave and maself started working together around about last winter. I met dave through konchis and donnie through jay at mcf. since our freezing weekend recording excess baggage in a shed we have been close ever since. now with reeko from all the queens bovine doing more production and also playing live so the next instalment will be fantastic.

FOR THOSE THAT DONT KNOW, WHATS VOLITON?

Volition means different things to everyone involved. to me it is a support group of people who share the same interests and have experience in whatever we decide to do. volition is essentially a good idea gone awry in the best possible way. Hopefully this is volitions year and we can make some possitive moves towards doing some good and challengeing steriotypes.

WE NEVER SEEN EVADE ON STAGE WITH YOU AND DONNIE AT THE PIVO GIG, HAS DAVE LEFT THE BAND?

the dave thing was sheerly a logistical cockup, we found about about the gig a week before the night and after a shaky rehersal i decided to book a studio room 2 days before the event. dave was a no show and we had to make up a new setlist because we didnt know if he was going to show up or not and that was the best oppertunity to get our sets tight. after donnie and myself gave up on dave appearing we made a new setlist and that was the one we were comfy with performing. if we do get a gig where we can use excess baggage again he will deffinetly be there.

YOU WORKIN ON ANY SOLO PROJECTS?

my solo project is called my sister belinda, it has been in the pipeline for years and it moast likely wont get finished. i enjoy working on it but prefer to keep myself buisy working with other emcees and producers. Reek from all the queens bovine has done all the production for this and im sure it will sound great once im happy with the way i sound on my own songs.

WHY DID YOU GO WITH THE NAME 'MY SISTAH BELINDA'? DO YOU HAVE A SISTER, AND IS HER NAME BELINDA?

My sister belinda was a song ma papa used to sing to us when he was pished and its the last real memory i have of him so its a bit of a homage to a great man and fits in with the family concept thats quite big on ma tape and in ma life

DID REEKO DO ALL THE PRODUCTION ON THE BAGAGE MIXTAPE?

A wish reek done all the production but for the last one we used alot of beats from the interweb but reek done chilled hop and r.k.b.p wich are the best on the album id say but then again im probably biased.

HA CHILLED HOPS ONE OF MUH FAVOURITES OFF IT TOO. WHO CAME UP WITH THE TITLE RAPE KILL BABY PUNCH, AND HAS ANY BUTCH LESBIAN ACTIVISTS PUNCHED ANY OF YOU DUE TO IT?

yeah man, it is a really nice beat and donnies verse is spot on in many, many ways. I think thats my favourate verse on the tape. Naming that song was a bad idea. It came about because we were recording solid and were just throwing around ideas. I used to pretend it was a social experiment but really we were just fannying around after all the hard work had been done. No lesbians have attacked us but it was funny how on the forum, the song got slated by quite a few folk that cant take a joke but it hardly got downloaded for them to actually form an oppinion. I love that song and think it went down quite well at the gig after we removed the rape kill baby punches.

WHAT WAS THE ONE VIDEO TAPE YOU WORE OUT DUE TO OVER WATCHINGS SON?

i never watched videos as a child, i was either in a tree or playing sega, guess im lucky. although when i was a nipper freddie got fingered wae a favourite of mines until i realised how desperate tom green is.

WE CAUGHT YOU AT THE DONT FLOP BATTLES. YOU WHERE PUT UP AGAINST A TOUGH COMPETATOR. SOMETHING YOUR KEEN ON DOING AGAIN, OR HAS IT SHOOK YOU SON?

The battles were fun. A did take it a bit outa context and fucked it but im up against the grim uncle paul in august. Dont no if u know him haha. Its a great learning experience to battle a proper legend but after the next one im out of the battlein scene. Its not as fun as recordin and im a big fan ov makin happyish tunes.

HOW HAIRY IS YOUR CHEST?

Ive got none, cant grow any n dnt wana.

WE ALL DO STUPID SHYIT WHEN DRUNK SON. WHATS YOUR MOST WORTHY DRUNK STORY?

Many many bad things. Its a reason why am not a big drikner. Once i decapitated the santa in ma local and two new years ago i got ma hole wearing a mini skirt n too too, id say those are the things i can remember

CAN YOU GIVE ME DONNIE'S SISTAHS NUMBAH?

Id love to help but no, somehow i feel boudarys may be crossed by that.

IM SURE THERE'S ALOT OF US KEEN TO SEE YOU ON STAGE AGAIN, WITH DAVE THIS TIME. WHENS THE NEXT EXCESS BAGGAGE GIG GOIN TO BE?

I would kill to do a gig again, im just new to all of this and dont really know what to do. I did have great fun at pivo pivo but i would rather record another excess baggage and do that live. All the preperation for the last gig was great fun and payed off so i wouldent mind working on a whole new setlist before i do a gig again, although if i was offered one tomorrow i would have no problems as i am extremely proud of the tape and how it sounded live. Once again alot of that greatness was down to reeks efforts.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WRITTING RAPS FOR?

Ive been wrighting for about four years, i was in a rubbsh group when i was like fifteen. We used a two track tape recorder to record our album and the quality of the rappers, including myself and the recordings were horrible sounding. What really got me going was reek, before i recorded any proper songs reek and i would have jams with guitars or keyboards or anything that could make a blues/jazz melody and we would try and keep up with each other. I think he is the reason i am still making music instead of giving up when all the members of my orriginal group stopped.

WHATS THE BIGGEST ANIMAL YOUVE EVER KILLED?

I got to pop a cap in a pidgeon the other day in work, i felt right hard, like 50 cent with my nine, well air rifle but the wee bastard still died and didnt shit on another van.

WHAT HAVE YOU GOT IN YOUR POCKETS RIGHT NOW? THATS ASSUMING YOUR WEARING THINGS WITH POKCTES.

theres a packet of skins and some rennies.

JUST HOW GOOD IS MISTABEE AT SKIPPING STONES ON THE WATER?

Not very, i get all exited when i manage like three.

THANKS FOR THE INTERVIEW BEE SIR.

Thanks man, so who are you then? haha

IM EVADE POD.

PZ TO BEE!

TDSLR INTERYOU

THE MAYNE THAT PACKS THA SHOTS CATCHES UP WITH THOMAS D SLCAK FOR CHYIT CHYAT. HE'S CURRENTLY TRYIN TO SELL SOME SWEET ASS VYNILS, SO GET IN THERE QUICK BITCHES!

TDSLR.COM. THOMAS D SLACK. WHERE DOES THE R COME FROM?

Haha... Okay... I'll let you in on this one... I feel it's quite ultramodern, by that I mean the 'TDSLR' doesn't stand for one thing as such. It stands for two things. Myself and the camera. My initials are TDS, and the style of camera I have is 'D-SLR' (Digital - Single Lens Reflex) - SO, when combining myself and the cam, you get TDSLR... When I was brain storming a 'name' for my business/website, I worked out the TDSLR, straight away, I knew it was 'the one'...

PERSONALLY, I WOULDA WENT WIT 'MAD TAM WID DA CAM, MAYNE'. THOUGHTS?

Haha... Class... Diggin' the new handle...

HOW DID YOU GET INTO PHATOGRUPHAH AND WHATS BEEN YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVMENT SO FAR?

Och... I was very fortunate to get a wee 'compact' camera... a point and shoot, wee Kodak thing ages ago for my 21st... It was great taking pics of mates intoxicated, things we couldn't remember, good times really, up town, camping up the highlands, holidays etc... I loved it... My infamous camera was known as 'The Tam Cam'! haha. One Christmas, my mate William, from Washington DC, brought me over a newer camera... It was like night and day, comparing the shots from my new and old cam... I knew I wanted to take this further... Chasing sharper, bigger, high-res images... After a few years, I was able to get my hands on a brand new Nikon D90!! TIDY! The first DLSR to have HD Movie mode... (bonus!) I also picked up a Macro lens... Happy days... Now I could eventually try my hand at some insect work... I love wildlife and the outdoors... So not sure if that's the right answer to the question... I just slavoured on there... haha, but yeh... it was a natural progression after taking my first snap.

Greatest achievement? Hmmm... Getting through a shoot maybe? haha! I've had a few great achievements to be honest... I'm a lucky guy... I don't know how... I've had the pleasure to travel all over Scotland with my camera, including Shetland, Aviemore and Glencoe, taking stunning shots... This I love. Planning a shot, trying for days to achieve it and getting it right... Oh happy days... It can take days/weeks to get some shots correct, working with wildlife and landscapes, things change all the time. Em... I suppose I was really chuffed having one of my photos printed in The Scotsman newspaper... Double-page spread... That was cool... I've had my work in a few other magazines and brochures. Having the chance to work with and help (some of my fav emcee's) Scottish hip hoppers... There's good guys on the 'scene'... BUT - maybe my best moment... (drum roll.....) Being on a shoot for a make-up artist, I was shooting nine, yes 9, different models... This was amaisin... getting paid to do jobs you only ever dreamed of... Bloody magic... Felt like I was on a set for FHM! Shots are minted, so it's great seeing a happy client... Oh, I also got a picture of my favourite artist of all time - 'Peter Green'. This was in Glasgow, I was SO lucky to actually meet him after a gig, I got a shot of him and my mate took a shot of Peter and I... Cheesing to say the least... Check him out, tracks called 'World keep on turning' or 'Jumping at shadows'... That's where it's at...

AS AN AVID SUPPORTER OF THE SCENE, HAVE YOU DABBLED IN MAKING MUSIK, OR IS IT STRICKTLAH BEHIND THE LENSE?

I have never made music as such... I've wrote a few raps when I was at college, years ago, and spat them when I was steaming... One of my lines were, lol: "Predicted unpredictable, like a primate, I wanna f•ck Liz Hurley" But nothing ever recorded. Thank France!! haha cringe! I had a base guitar once, but my mate Mikey pawned it for vodka. Em... I've never made beats either... It's mad, because I consider myself deeply involved in music and some-things that are going on... I've wrote a track or two with Adam Homes... Those were blues/folky tracks... I've managed a blues band years ago and I was Madhats manager a few years back too... So I do have a strong opinion about things... but I guess my strongest work in 'the scene' would have to have been behind the lens. It was good covering the Don't Flop gig, as I think it showed a lot of folk my standard... I've also chucked up tuns of videos on youtube (Tzaosirus7), not to any pro standard... I guess that's probably due to being drunken when I'm recording spitz on the streets! I've also done a few album designs... New ones coming from MOG, Nity, Wardie... So aye, I like to try and help with what I'm good at... Give things that bit better of an edge... Pro look... I try... haha

HA YOU MUSTA BEEN PISSED YOUR MATE PAWNED SOMETHING OF YOURS?

Ha... Well... the guys like a brother to me... I did get the Bass for cheap too... but aye, I was pissed off - he drank the vodka without me... haha. I think the worst part of the whole thing was him lying... saying it's in his attic etc... hiding from us when we had rehersal rooms booked etc... That was nippy... But hey, it was just a daft guitar that I couldn't play... He prob done me (and others) a favour! haha

WHAT HAPPENED WITH BEING MADHATS MANAGER THEN?

Em... I had just got my camera... Things were looking good for Madhat and we were having good times... After a short while though, I ended up thinking... (not often eh? haha). I was thinking, I had done so much promotion / management etc for other people and now I was sitting with semi-pro camera, capable of making me a decent living... If I did the same for myself, that I had been doing for other people, I might have a good chance of going somewhere... So... I'm daft about outdoors and wildlife... Amongst other things of course... But I decided to move out of Madhats... save some doe and get myself a one-way ticket to Australia and 'do the do' over there... I'm 27, so now is a good time to go for me... I plan to focus on my website and my photography, explore new lands... I'm sick of seeing it on TV and wishing it was me that was doing it... the time is now! I leave Tuesday 29th June... hohoho

YOUR SITE IS A VERY WELL POLOSHED SUAVE PIECE OF KRAFT SIR. DID YOU MAKE THAT YOURSELF?

Why thank you. Negative. I done/do all content, eg pics and text... I do all updates and maintain the site myself. But the man with the plan was 'chaswilliams.com'. A very good friend of mines. I can't do technical engineering of websites... I can design them and get them looking class... But I can't 'do the do' as such...

WHATS THE MOST DISTURBING THING YOUVE WTINESSED ONLINE?

Not too sure if I should tell? I still remember it vividly. It was rank... It involved two Asian females, a strap-on and vomit. Vile stuff... We all jumped back as if the spew would hit us! The video was called 'Puke Girl'. Enough said?

SO AS A PHOTOGRAPHAH, DO YOU HAVE ANY PROJECTS PLANNED? OR IS IT A CASE OF AIM AND SHOOT AND SEE WHAT HYAPPENS?

Hmmm.... Biggest plan I reckon is the OZ thing... If I can manage to keep a diary, do lots of travelling, and get 1 pro shot a day, I'll be really chuffed... So I guess that's a year-long project in the making... Fingers crossed it all goes well...

WHY DID YOU TAKE PICS OF THE MUFUCKIN BOGS AT THE FLYIN DUCK?

Haha... Fortunately, the camera doesn't pick up smell eh?
I thought they bogs were tidy! Cool colours and lighting... You end up seeing the beauty in mad different things when you spend half your time with your eye stuck to the lens... Did you like the shot?

I LIKED THE SHOTS, WOULDA PREFFERED THE GIRLS TOILETS THOUGH.

Haha! What were they like?

IS PETER PARKER AN INSPUHRASHON TO YOU AS A PHOTGRAPHER?

Of course he is! The angles that guy gets, he's the shit man!! Web slinging, photo snapping, hot chick suckin', bad guy punchin', tight wearing bad ass. What photographer could he not influence?

WHAT WAS THE LAST GIG YOU WHERE AT?

Last gig... em... It was a Number 9's gig... Cab Vol, Edinburgh... It was top quality as per usual... That band has it locked... Stage performance is off the hook... Go on the Bulldog and the rest of the boys! Rock on man!!

YEAH I SEEN THE 9'S WHEN THEY WHERE LAST IN G-TOWN. THAT LEAD SINGER HAS SOME FUNKY MOVES. CAN TAM THE CAM MAYNE HOLD HIS OWN ON THE DANCE FLOOR?

Haha, Steven aka The Bulldog, he's one of my best mates... We've been on the go for a good few years now... I remember in Kavos, in the year 2000, all the boys went over, mad times... But Steve did the same moves as he does on stage just now at the front of this club... Beach club or somit... it was epic... Go on Steve man... Mad shapes... haha!

Hold my own drink maybe... I can't dance... Closest you get to me dancing is like a scene out of 'Shimmy Shimmy Ya'!

WHY ARE YOU GOING TO AUSTRALIA?

Take photos man!!! Explore, adventure, get drunk, you know... Same kind of stuff I do here... The worlds tiny... And if I can make it to OZ - anyone can man... Just got to say to yourself - the time is now! I'm going on my own, so I don't have to argue or rely on anyone... Just do my thing... Queensland style!!! I'll be keeping my diary on my website as up-to-date as possible...

HOW DID YOU GET ON WITH SELLIN YOUR VYNILS?

Pish... Sold Jinx 10... Good price, but he got first pick, so he walked away with Big L's first album, Big L's last ever live show in Amsterdam, mint condition... Mef / Tical, GZA / Liquid Swords, Ice Cube / Predator... Few others... all classics... I'm throwing them away just now... cheap as chips!!! I NEED MONEY!!! haha. So aye, I've got till Sat 26th to sell them... Hopefully the SunGod will take some... GET IN TOUCH IF YOU WANT TO BUY SOME!!!! Oh aye, I sold 8 to guy in England... He got at me via the youtube videos... Had them picked up off a courier etc... mad man...

THE BEATLES OR THE ROLLING STONES?

Hmm... Beatles for the psychedelic journey... Stones for some rock n roll... 'Play with Fire'... That's the track!!
But I'd rather listen to - Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac - ANYDAY!!! That's my favorate band of all time man... Get them checked...

WHO DID YOU LAST PUNCH AND WHY?

Hmm.... I'm a blunt sucking hippy... So I don't really fight all that much... Grew out of it... Prob one of my mates for taking my lighter or something... Jinx or someone... haha

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME SOMEONE FLASHED YOU?

Flashed me? It was about 3 weeks ago... My friend Keenan loves to reveal his 'himself'... We were in Hamburg, Germany for my mates Stag doo (Seriously, if your a guy, go to HAMBURG!!!). I woke up on the 2nd day, bottom bunk... He was lying in a star shape on a bed across from me... Totally naked... Rubbing his man hood... We were all just like 'put it away man'... lol... First thing in the morning an that... He was rubbing his wee genie lamp... as I found myself staring at the competition, lol, I was like I recognise that thing... Or it looked familiar...? Then it came to me, it was the spittin' image for a Wizards hat! haha... He was well pleased with his new handle for the wee man... 'The Wizards Hat'... hahaha... Quality...

SKRIBBO INTERVYOU

CHEA! THE MAYNE WITH ALL THE ALIAS' CATCHES UP WITH THE SECERET FRENCH MAYNE FOR SOME CHAT ON THE SHYIT THAT SHOULD BE DISCUSSED IN THE WHITE HOUSE. I LIKE TO THINK I'VE EARNED A FRIEND WITHIN THIS INTERYOU.

SINCE I'VE JOINED THIS BOARD, I'VE HAD ALOT OF PM'S FROM MUFUCKAS, ASKIN WHO THE FUCK THIS MUFUCKA HURB BE. NO ONE UNDAHSTANDS IM A REAL LIFE HUSTLA TRYIN TO FEED MUH KIDS.

FIRSTLY, AM I SKRIBBO? AND WHY WOULD THEY ACCUSATE THAT?

You are Skribbo. We are all Skribbo. We're all unemployed jankrows with nothing else to do but post on this forum using a gazillion different names. I am every cunt. I am standing behind you right now. Pantomime Villain style.

YOUR ACCENT ISNT EXACTLLY ONE OF THE CONVENTIONAL SCOTTISH STANDARD. EXPLAIN TO THE KIDS AT HOME THE ORIGINS OF SKRIBB.

I get a lot of questions about my accent. But really, how many of these people have been to the outskirts of Paris? How many of them have been to Govan? Or Penilee? This is how we talk. End of.

SO YOUR FROM PARIS? HOW DID YOU END UP HERE MUFUCKA?

I see, you want serious answers. Ok, here goes. Yes, I'm from Paris. Its Outskirts anyway. My mother is from Detroit, MI and my father is from Richmond, VA. My mother moved to Paris at 19. She met my father in Paris when she was in her 20's. They moved back and forth.... DC, Baltimore and back to Paris.

I was born and raised in the western outskirts of Paris. I was kicked out of a few schools and decided to chance it in New York, where I had an uncle. I lived in Washington Heights, Harlem and Western Massachusetts for a few years.

6 years passed and I ended up in London, Wood Green. About a million things happened and, between what I choose to omit and what I have forgotten, there is nothing to say but this: I met Loki. I travelled north to Glasgow. And I will leave it at that since your next question is...

HOW DID YOU COME TO BE ABSORBED IN THE BEING?

I don't know! You're supposed to be talented, right? Well... I recorded a few tracks with Loki, Gasp and Butterscotch. Then I hooked up with Brainz and one thing led to another. Then I had an album done! I lived in a flat with Doonhamer, BA and Marrik... there was no way back!

HOW LONG HAVE YOU GROWN YOUR HAIR?
Longer than the werewolf from Twilight. That boy's a bitch, straight up.

EXPLAIN YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH DARKHORSE.

WHATS YOUR PROUDEST MUSICAL ACHIEVEMENT BEEN SO FAR?

Anything I've done with Scatabrainz. He is the best producer in the UK and I am honoured to have been able to work with him.

WHEN WAS THE LAST TYIME YOU WAS IN A STRIP CLUB?

This morning. I was just getting bagels.

WHAT PROJECT YOU CURRENTLY WORKIN ON SON?

The Wookie Goldberg mixtape; It Takes A Nation of Baldwins to Hold Us Back. As well as the Wookie Goldberg album: Back To the Future IV: The Quest For Democracy. It features production by Jack Valentine, Scatabrainz, Steak & Kidney Sidney and Bill Breaks. I've also heard rumours that the bEiNg are-------------------------------------------------------------------

CATCHY TITLE. NOT A FAN OF THE BALDWIN BROTHERS THEN?

You've got it all wrong. I love the Baldwins so much sometimes it hurts.

YOUR ON YOUR WAY HOME FROM BINGO, AND YA MAN SHEPWARDO IS WAITIN AT YA CRIB WITH A COUPLE OF FAT BEADIES ROLLED. ON YOUR WONDER HOME, YOU SEE BOTH JUDE LAW AND KEANU REEVES. YOU CANT LEAVE SHEPWARDO WAITIN, YOU ONLY HAVE TIME TO DROPKICK ONE OF THEM. WHICH?

Keanu was in Bill & Ted. He gets props for life. He was also the best thing about Kenneth Branagh's Much Ado About Nothing. You know it, I know it. Jude Law on the other hand... Fuck that guy.

WORST GIG YOUVE EVER DONE?

I really couldn't say. I was booed off stage when I was 15. That was probably it. But any gig where I'm performing solely to bored bar staff and whoever in the crew isn't on stage at that particular moment is pretty gash.

WELL, ALLOW ME TO REVISIT THAT THEN. BEST GIG YOUVE EVER DONE?

Probably the Octopigeon night we did for Respek BA's mixtape launch at Ivory Blacks. I remember very little of my performance but it was a great night overall and hundreds of folk came through.

HOW ARE MUH INTERVIEWIN SKILLZ?

You're better than Jimmy Fallon but not as good as the guy from Inside The Actors Studio.

WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR THE WEEKEND?

I might put on pants.

WHATS YOUR FAVOURITE PUNCHLINE?

Pretty much everything Big L ever said.

FAMILY GUY OR SOUTH PARK?
South Park. Derp.

THANKS SKRIB, I LOVE YOU.

LADIES AND GENTLERMEN, SKRIBBO!

CHAD INTERVYOU

SCOTLANDS OLDEST RAPPUR CATCHES UP WITH THE LEGENDERY UNCLE HURB TO CHAT ABOUT WHAT REALLY MATTERS. THANKS TO MUH MAYNE CHAD FOR THIS SHYIT, SONS!

FIRST AND FARMOST, DRY BACON. REALLY?

ha ha! Indeed i enjoy ma bacon fried and on a crispy roll - with no sauce required. If were talking grilled bacon then it'd have to be the old red sauce on that badboy although grilling bacon should be outlawed.

I REMEMBER THE DAYS OF YOU AND K9 KEV DOIN YA THING ON STAGE. HOW DID THIS COME ABOUT AND WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE PROJECT YALLS WHERE WORKIN ON?

We were both at the same music course at college about five years ago and decided to do a few collabs and decided to take it further. We had a label interested in putting out our album but they unfortunately folded at the height of the recession. Gutted. We're now in the process of finalising the last few tracks whilst trying to get it out ourselves so hopefully folk will be able to check it in the near future.

IS IT TRUE THAT YOUR IN YOUR 30'S?

Just barely mate, i turn 31 in July, gettin auld Hurb! Reckon im wearing it well though, my paperround was never to rough and Luckily, like bill breaks, i too have my own skincare regime!

NO WAY YOUR IN YOUR 30'S, HANDSOME MUFUCKA! WHATS THE LAST TRACK YOU LISTENED TO WITH JOY?

DJ Format Feat J5- We know something. Its the perfect example of joyous hiphop and makes ye boogie - plus the video is the nutts too. Cant beat break dancing dudes in animal costumes!!!!!

WHAT ABOUT YOUR DONT FLOP EXPERIENCE AT THE FLYING DUCK, IS IT SOMETHING YOUR KEEN TO DO AGAIN TO SHOW MUFUCKAS THE WRATH OF CHAD?

"the wrath of chad" love it! I thouroughly enjoyed the experience and was pleased that so many folk came out to watch. I was disappointed in my performance in the battle but that shit happens. Mr MacKenzie was on his A Game i wasn't - simple. Its an amaisin buzz battling in that environment and it is something im definately doing again, in fact im due to battle Riddlah in August at the next dont flop in edinburgh. Should be a good one!

WHAT WAS THE LAST MOVIE YOU WATCHED.

i dont get the opportunity to watch movies often but the last one i checked was Leaves of Grass with Edward Norton in it. For a movie about a guy growing and selling weed it was pretty dire.

WOULD YOU EVER FEATURE ON THE SHOW GLEE IF THEY CAME RINGIN' ON THE PHONE?

Absolutely. Ive been known to sing a song or two and implement it into my music. Plus, theres loads of pretentious chodes on it and i dont think one more wouldnt hurt would it?

WHAT CAN WE EXPECT TO HEAR AND SEE FROM CHAD IN THE FUTURE?

Im compiling a solo project with the help of Stevie up at scant squad hq, gathering beats arranging collabs and writing for it with a view to releasing in the next couple of months, well thats the plan anyway. Of course the album with K9 Kev as aforementioned will be out soon too. Asides from that just doing more on the battle front.

WHO YOU BACKIN IN THE WORLD CUP SON?

Im not reallly backing anyone as Scotland arent in it but i reckon germany are the side to beat so i can see them taking it quite easily. World cup has been a disappointment so far, hopefully shit gets juicier and rooney gets injured!

THE HURB IS ONE DRUNK LONELY MUFUCKA RIGHT NOW. HOW WELL DO YOU TYPE WHEN YOUVE LOST ALL MEMORY OF WHO YOU BE?

Not as good as yourself obviously hurb, usually i try an stay away from the internet when ive had a drink. If i do, i type stupid shit and miss out a lot of vowels and just awful awful gibberish!

WHAT DOES YOUR WRITTING METHODS CONSIST OF?

i usually write to a beat, unless an idea grabs me then i'll try tailoring the lyrics to a suitable beat. Most times i just source ideas from hearing the music and trying to establish a mood and topic and go from there. A Few cans a lager and a good smoke usually provides the result im after!

JUST HOW GOOD A FREESTYLER IS CHAD THE LAD?

Ummm, you'd have to ask some other folk about that! I reckon i can hold my own and not just spout rubbish when freestyling, i just try not to repeat myself and most importantly try not to stop. Its something that, like most things gets better the longer you do it. Unlike crystal meth!

THE MOVIE 'SCOTTISH HIP HOP EPISODE II: ATTACKING THE CLONES' IS IN PRE-PRODUCTION, SPIELBERGS SET TO DIRECT. WHO SHOULD PLAY YOU?

Good question! I'd say that Jason Statham cat, just to hear his pathetic attempt at a scottish accent fall flat on its arse. If ever there was a movie about the "scene" it would have to be fulla folk with shit scottish accents. Or Russell Crowe could portray me, again for the poor accent attempt but with the added incentive that i think he's a bellend!

WHATS YOUR RECORDING FASILITAHS LIKE?

i dont own a recording setup, usually im up at scant squad HQ weekly laying vocals down and fleshing out some beats. other than that, whoever has a setup that im collaborating with, i'll use that. bit of a freeloader eh?

MCDONALDS OR BURGER KING?

It'd have to be mcdonalds for the burgers and burger king for the fries. cant beat a Micky Dees for breakfast though, the hash browns are immense!

EXCELENT CHYAD!

LADIES AND GENTLERMEN, CHAD THE LAD!

DEE INTERVYOU

THE GUY WHO RUNS BLOCKS CATCHES UP WITH THE BRAND NEW KID ON IT. DEE RITCH HAS JUST RECENTLY STARTED AUDIO, A NEW GENERATION OF RAPPER.

FOR THOSE THAT DUNNO THE NAME OF DEE RICHIE, WHAT YALL ABOUT SON?

dee richy ,if yah dont know get ta know. im a 16 year old mc form airdrie near glasgow. love hip hop,or what hip hop used to be, new hip hop has let me down recently. so basicaly im a rapper, thats just started so listen out for the name in the near future.

YOUR AN AVID TEXT HEAD TO SAY THE LEAST, WE CAN ALWAYS FYIND YOU IN THE BATTLE THREAD. JUST HOW DID YOU FIND THIS FORUM AND HOW HAS IT BENFEITED YOU?

aye, a love to write lyrics, and battling is fun but most of my mates dont like rap music or try to rap, so come on and click on teh battle thread an get a wee bit of banter and fun. i found the site by typing scottish hip hop into google, listened to the likes of werd, deeko, loki, respek ba and the rest of the being before i was on this site and thought id try to expand my knowledge of scottish hip hop, and this site has widened it alot. now listen to lots of different rappers id never heard of before this site that are extremley dope, such as nity gritz and madhat, both amaisin. so its benefited me by keeping me up with scottish hip hop.

WHAT DOES DEE STAND FOR?

dee stands for my 1st name Derek, just my nickname, i'm like obie trice, real name no gikkicks. my birth name is Derek Ritchie.

YOUR NOW STARTING TO RECORD, HOW ARE YOU FINDING THIS PROCESS AND DO YOU HAVE ANY PLANS OTHER THAN SOUNDCLOUD?

recording is great, ive got a great beat maker and he helps me alot in the studio. its loads of fun. have a laugh and that, hes kinda like me a bit of a perfectionist so its good, and we both really enjoy makin music, hes a great musician on instruments, and has tried his hand at makin beats for me and has done a great job. yeah more future plans, hoping to record loads more tracks and get a mixtape on the go, ive picked out a name for it already, im sad that way.

YOU SAID STUDIO, I THINK SCOTTISH HIP HOP SHOULD HAVE ITS OWN VERSION OF CRIBS. I FIND ALOT OF RAPPERS PERCIEPTIONS OF STUDIOS TO BE CREATIVE TO SAY THE LEAST. EXPLAIN YOUR STUDIO TO US?

its in my school so, its pretty tight man. its got a mixer in one room with good equipment, programmes and instruments, in the other its got the mic and head phones in a sound proof room. i dont really touch anything except the mic and heapphones though, haha.

AND WHATS THIS BEAT MAKERS NAME?

his name is ben cook, good friend of mine. kool ass guy.

CAN WE EXPECT THE MIXTAPE ANYTIME SOON, OR ARE YOU GOIN TO FIND YOUR AUDIO FEET FIRST?

gonna try and find my feet first, no point in just makin terrible tracks and makin a mixtape thats jus asking to fail and be mocked soo, soon but not too soon.

WHATS THE MOVIE YOUVE WATHED MORE THAN ANY OTHER?

movie i watch the most has to be anchorman, will ferrel is hilarious man. love that film

BILL BREAKS INTERVYOU

AFTER DAYS OF TRYING TO TRACK HIM DOWN, I EVENTUALLY CAUGHT UP WITH BILL BREAKS IN A LOCH, CHATTING TO SOME SWANS. HE WAS RELUCTANT TO TALK ABOUT THE ACUSATIONS THAT IT WAS REALLY HIM IN THE 'JOHN LESSLIE SEX TAPE', BUT THIS IS WHAT I GOT OUT OF HIM.

SO YOU'VE MADE AN ESTABLISHED NAME FOR YOURSELF IN THE SCENE AS BEATMAKER EXTRODNAHAIR. EVER ATTEMPTED THE WRITTING/EMCEEING SIDE OF THINGS?

Im not sure if established is the right word. Forums don't count as a 'scene' I don't think. But yes, in a way I am incredibly famous. I have indeed attempted writing/emceeing once or twice with brilliant consequences. I was actually thinking about rerecording a track I did a few years ago and forcing people to listen to it but depends how drunk I get.

ID SAY YOU WHERE ESTABLISHED IN THE SENSE EMCEES KNOW YOUR NAME AND KNOW YOUR A GOOD SOURCE TO COME TO. YOU ALSO PRODUCED LOVESICK, MUH EX WIFE TOOK MUH COPY AND MOVED BACK TO THE BRONX, NOW EVERYONE KNOWS BILL BREAKS' NAME THERE. YOU WHERE EVEN ASSOCIATED WITH THE SHORT LIVED RAP ICONS, IRN FU. DO YOU MISS THE IRN FU DAYS?

Fair enough, I suppose. I never really got down the irn fu till later on. I love them all and they all know why. I miss them. Yes.

ANY RAPPERS IN THE SCENE YOU WISH TO WORK WITH THAT HAVENT HAD THE PLEASURE OF BILL UNDER THEM?

Hmm thats a tough one, most rappers in this scene are of a very poor quality but if I had to pick one of them it would be depths or failing that, mc dimensional. Aside from music, I would love to have almost any rapper in scotland pleasuring themselves ontop of me.

WHATS YOUR DAILY SKIN CARE ROUTINE?

My daily skin care routine has been improving day by day. I started off with nothing, now onto the basic moisturiser (none of the over-exaggerated stuff) and as I come of age... shaving much more often. I have also been attempting to cultivate some lovely sideburns and I feel that my success so far has been relatively well well-grounded. Updates to follow.

AND YOUR MOST PLAYED LP?

Tricky one... its a toss up between the Best of Billy Ray Cyrus: Cover to Cover and Dessa - Badly Broken Code. Along side that, I tend to listen to non-album tracks the most.

WHATS YOUR METHODS OF GETTING THE HEAD DOWN AND WORKING?

I have no methods. Boredom seems to be the biggest one inspiration. That and paracetamol.

AS YOUR AT THE HANDSOME AGE OF 18 IN TODAYS SOCIETY, WHATS YOUR VIEWS ON TWILIGHT?

My views on twilight are strong and varied. I think that the movie makes a mockery and joke of the true vampires living in society who need our support and deserve to be treated as equals. Now if your talking about twilight as in... people in their twilight years.. then I say that there is too many old people and a strict over-65 abortion policy should be enforced and I feel that the Lib-Con coalition could be the administration to impliment such a policy and impliment it well.

WHAT PROJECT ARE YOU CURRENTLY WORKING ON RIGHT NOW?

Just now im working on a secret project thing as a follow up to the amaisin first ep Fade to Static. This one wont be any of that remix crap though, purely exclusive types with a bit of everything... live instrumentations for a change, singing, rapping, beatboxing, arsing about.... Mostly done by other people but then im going to take all the credit for it since im like that.

1- 10, HOW HAIRY IS YOUR CHEST?

I would say a low 3, there was a time not so long ago that hair simply did not exist in that region but since it has gotten a foothold... there simply is no stopping it.. Itll get there.

THANKS BILL, WE SHALL DANCE AGAIN SOMETIME.

LADIES AND GENTLERMEN, BILL BREAKS!

TEKNIQUE INTERVYOU

YIP, THE FRESHEST, YOUNGEST FACE IN THE SCENE TODAY MEETS UP WITH TEKNIQUE TO DISCUSS MUSIC, BUMBLEBEE CARS, AGE AND CAMERAS. HE'S MY NEW BEST FRIEND, AND YOU'LL LIKE HIM TOO.

SO FOR THE FOLKS AT HOME THAT DONT KNOW ALOT ABOUT THE NAME TEKNIQUE, HOW DID YOU GET INVOLVED IN THE SCENE AND WHAT PART HAVE YOU BEEN PLAYIN SON?

Think I'll clear up the name Teqnique which people may think is quite the generic name haha. I named myself Teknique solely due to the fact that in the HMV Street Fighter IV tournament in Princes Street I kicked ass pretty much.. And the commentator cunt said I had "Ill technique"and I liked that.. so kept it haha
But yeah, I got involved through the scene through my big brother, who I doubt a lot of people will know(if any bar Adam Holmes). He was a beatboxer who I've always been very close with brother wise so went out with him and his mates and heard Adam, Madhat, Nity, and others like Loki.

So I looked further into it and now I'm completely enthralled in it!
It's fascinating! I love the fact that although we're not popular, and the accent barrier is damn near overwhelming unless you're scottish or irish, we're still making music, working hard, getting on the grind and promoting the scene. Beautiful story of perseverance. This kind of inspired me to make my own music and also try and help get this amaisin talent that we have spread to the youngers and just.. get more people to become interested, use their talents or even just listen to it!
But I am the cameraman/owner of The Scottish Roots which is becoming slowly quite a prominent YouTube channel for scottish hip-hop. Always looking for people who would like to be filmed whenever and stuff you know!

I also rap, and I'm working on several projects, one with my own group of mates another with my mate Selfhood Soul, and another with my beatboxing friend called Dillon(original name eh haha) so Stay tuned for those to drop

HOW DID YOU BECOME INVOLVED WITH A CAMERA? DO YOU STUDY MEDIA OR IS IT PURELY A HOBBY? AND WHO'S THIS GROUP OF MERRY MEN YOU SPEAK OF?

I pretty much thought I'd blow my money on a camera to make short films because as with music, I'm infatuated with movies, short films, comedy sketches and the like.. And seen as I fancy myself as a bit of a comedian/actor I thought it was a good investment but then it clicked that it could be used to be a form of scottish GrimeDaily(who deserve massive respect as they started out as nothing and can now request any English star they want really from within the grime/hiphop scene and they'll get them. I envy that kind of artist respect! haha) and it's developed from there. I think my channel is actually taking off pretty well to be fair! :)
But yeah, kind of a mixture of both.

I took media at school because I love film and thing of the like, but I also love filming.. It's the best feeling I can get (productively) knowing that I have a new video, something new to show to the people, something that is also, a cracker!
But that's sad little me eh =P

And my band of merry men eh.. Hmm..
Well theres the man on the decks and beats, Darren Momenpour (http://soundcloud.com/darren-momenpour)
Willi£
and Pocketz
You'll learn more about those two soooon haha

AND DOES YOUR BROTHER STILL BEATBOX AND STAY ACTIVE?

He wasn't really ever active, he'd just beatbox for whoever was willing to spit where he was haha
Never did gigs or tracks or anything(might here something from him soon though).
But he still busts out the old mouth music!

DO YOU FIND YOUR AGE LIMITS YOU WHEN IT COMES TO GIGS AND BAR RELATED EVENTS?

Unfortunately.. Completely and utterly.
I mean I would turn up to every event possible just to get footage, filming done etc.. but I can't get in as they are 99% bar related events.
Can't get into Don't Flop 2 either I don't think which is a massive blow to me.
Would've loved to be there!See serious battling in action!

But it's good seeing things like Bristo Battles which is just turn up sort of basis!
But would again be nice as someone who is only wanting the scene to expand and be shown to a wider audience and who can't get into events if people would offer up around half an hour of their time during any time period to do a wee thing for my channel, hell, even a freestyle and interview or anything! I'm not bothered, they could play the bongos and sing Lady Gaga for all I care haha but oh well.. with the apprehension towards anyone new that seems to have infected the scottish scene I guess I have to prove myself to be "worthy" of their time or something along those lines, I dunno! =S

HAVE YOU REALLY EVER RODE IN A BUMBLEBEE CAR?

Actually, Yeah! haha
I went in a fifth generation Chevrolet Camaro in London, which I was more than chuffed with! haha

I'm telling you, niiiice car!

But Closing statement is.. Love and Peace within the scottish music! It's a bad enough situation without the added aggro of hate between newbies and verterans.. just come to terms that people are making music and either leave them to it, or support them!

Hurb.. Thanks :)

Peaaace!

SHORT AND SWEET, THANKS TEK.

LADIES AND GENTLERMEN, TEKNIQUE!

BECCA STARR INTERVYOU

YIP, ONE OF THE FINEST VOICES IN TODAYS MUSIC CATCHES UP WITH MIZZ BEKUR STARR. I THINK IT'S FAIR TO SAY AFTER THIS INTERVIEW, YOU WILL BE THAT LITTLE BIT MORE IN LOVE WITH HER.

HOW DID YOU COME TO BE INTRODUCED TO THE SCOTTISH HIP HOP SCENE, AND EVENTUALLY WORK WITH TANK?

i was introduced to the hip-hop scene as i used to work in a shop with RC junior, formally from the 4most. me and him got on well and we exchanged cds of stuff we'd done over the years. he really liked my voice and asked me to do a track with him. when we met up, tank was there cos he was gonna produce the beat. me and tank hit it off instantly. we've just always got each other from the first minute we met :) long story short, we ended up fannying about with a coupla tracks and within a week of hanging out together we had four tracks done. we both saw we were onto something good and wanted to continue working. within a month we had a radio appearance at glasgow met radio and had recorded 2 tracks. we just click : D it just works! really love him a lot and i think our genuine respect for each other as friends is why we work so well. over time, i met many people through tank at gigs etc, really liked everyone and felt very welcomed! and that pretty much it! always listened to hip-hop, but have very ecclectic tastes musically from working with so many different artists over the years. but the hip-hop scene is thriving with incredible writers and performers. im really so lucky to be working with some of the people i have!

SO WITH THAT SAID ABOUT YOUR VARIETY IN DIFFRENT WALKS OF MUSIC, WOULD YOU EVER DO A DANCE TRACK?

i actually did a kinda dancey track with a dear friend of mine, al (aka NEW ERA) recently. he produced the tune and i wrote and sang it! was a cool experience as id never done something quite so dancey. when i was signed a few years back there was a real electro sound, but this was different. its mint! check it out here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4v9pkUD-Mk

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TEMPTED IN GOING THE REALITY TV ROUTE WITH THAT VOICE OF YOURS?

with reality tv, i entered the x factor last year! it was just for fun and my folks really and tank was behind it 100% as he's always wanted me to do well. but to be honest, i didnt expect to win it, got thru the first few rounds, but i just wasnt prepared to give a sob story, which i easily could have as anyone could! but im happy doing it on my own. my parents kinda encouraged me to give it a go, suffice to say, my mam was gutted and shocked when i didnt make it thru, she thought id win it i think! but thats what mammYS always think :)

WHO WANTS TO BE ANOTHER COWELL CLONE ANYWAYS! THEY TAKE AWAY YOUR INDEPENDANCY. WHATS YOUR SONG WRITTING PROCESS LIKE?

my songwriting process is bizarre... im constantly writing im a total workaholic. im lucky enough to be able to dedicate myself to doing music full-time. often, if its a collab track there's often a concept, which i will then follow and reference. if it a track of my own i generally write about issues directly effecting me or other people i know, or issues that i feel need to be addressed. it varies. but im always writing, i have a massive back catalogue of lyrics. i also play a few instruments and run open mic nites, so i do a lot of writing original songs on my guitar too. i love working with people and doing collab, its amaisin having someone else to inspire you. i try to write positive tracks as much as possible, or tracks that people will relate to. when ive got a problem i listen to music for the answers or to feel someone knows what im feeling. an example being, if my hearts aching a bit i tend to listen to lauryn hill's 'ex-factor'. beautiful song. the lyric "no one loves you more than me and no one ever will" is amaisin. ive felt like that. and even though im single i still relate to it, when i think of some of my closest friends. if one of my songs did that for someone like her song did for me, id be eternally happy! :)

IS IT HARD BEING A SINGLE WHITE FEMALE IN A PREDOMINANTLY MALE ENVIROMENT? YOU MUST GET STALKED ALOT, SEVERED KITTEN TOES THREW YOUR POST AND SUCH THINGS? ALOT OF CHANCERS AT THE LEAST, NO?

i like being single! :) its not a chore. im comfortable with who i m and what i stand for so i dont feel i need a man to validate me in that respect. it would be nice to find someone though. no stalkers really :) ive been propisitioned, but im married to my music! i wouldnt want to lead anybody on.i honestly thought id found someone last year i really related to and completely fell in love. but it went horribly wrong. im still recoveing from that. but im open to it. i would like to have someone to love and be loved back. i dunno.... :D

IN THE PAST, YOUVE EXPRESSED INTEREST IN BATTLING. FIRSTLY, HAVE YOU EVER LAID DOWN SOME PHAT PUNCHLINES ON A TRACK? AND ALSO, IM SURE I REMEMBER YOU SAYIN YOU'D BE MORE INCLINED IF THE OPONENT WAS FEMALE, WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

yeah i love battle rapping! however, i would never ever wanna battle a lass. i just wouldnt. id rather be put up against a guy. im still mulling over it. im in two minds. i know i have the potential to be amaisin at it if i really work on it, but i worry it may tarnish my reputation as a singer if i do. wee exclusive though me and silvetongue (who i got mad love and respect for!) were discussing being a doubles battle team. could be interesting! watch this space! but i dunno... i may just stick to spectating! silvers been a great encourgement though! he has felt my wrath, we have battled each other. was good fun :D but we'll see!

WHAT WOULD BE THE TITLE OF YOUR AUTOBIOGRIPHAH?

my autobiography would be titled 'agent in disguise'. its a lyric from a tune of ours called 'the agents theme' and that tune baically vocalises my views on how people in the industry are treated. ive been signed twice before and both times i was dropped under unfortunate circumstances, both times ruined my life. working with tank and being 'an agent' is so important to me :) ive always done everything alone but i know that tank loves and respects me as much as i love and respect him and will always be there for me as a musical companion and as one of my best friends. he's a brother to me and we've both been through a lot since the band started in february 2009. but i will always be an agent, no matter what happens in the future, as a solo writer/singer or as tanks vocalist! he's helped rebuild me and my belief in myself and i know together we can achieve what we want, but more importantly, he's helped me see that i can also achieve things on my own still too.

WHAT MOVIE HAVE YOU WATCHED MORE THAN ANY OTHER?

the movie ive honestly watched most is clerks and clerks 2! i think theyre hilarious! :D gotta wee crush on jason mewes too! love all kevin smiths movies though. i own them all.however, my fave film is dead mans shoes. its amaisin. but i couldnt watch it as often as clerks! but its a real morality cleanser. heavy duty!

AH YES, I LIKE YOUR TASTE IN FILM! I SEEN KEVIN SMITH LIVE BACK IN OCTOBER THERE, DID YOU HAPPEN TO GO?

wow u did! thats awesome! nah man i never got to that! would have loved to! jealous! :D we should go to his next one though yeah!

WHAT WAS THE WORST GIG YOUVE EVER DONE?

oooft..... worst gig...... i dunno! with the agents we've been blessed that our gigs normally go quite well, but we've had hitches! id say my worst performance was only a few weeks back at one of my open mics. i leant over to get something outta my handbag and gotta mad pain in my tummy, like something popped out and it didnt go away. i got up to sing and for the first time ever, i stopped half way through the song because i couldnt breathe! was so embaressing having folk crowd round me panicing! turned out i had a hernia! some of my guts had burst out through muscle just above my bellybutton. that was so bizarre! a night spent in hospital was had, but luckily it slipped back in and i didnt need surgery. was horrendously bad timing as it was the night before i had a major spinal procedure. i have a bone disorder and im awaiting a spinal surgery date. so the last thing i needed was a hernia! such a mad wee thing, but it meant i couldnt sing! i empathise with anyone who's had a hernia! :p

MY THIGHS ARE CHAFING, ANY ADVICE?

ye got a bit o' chaffage on the go aye? :) hmm..... canny really help ye with that... maybe try a nice pair of figure enhancing tights doll! might do the trick! try lunges too, good exersize for tightening up leg muscles! lol

THIS WAS A TOTAL PLEASURE, THANKS BEKUR.

LADIES AND GENTLERMEN, MIZZ BEKUR STARR.

LOKI INTERVYOU

YIP, THE MAYNE WHO NEEDS NO INTRODUCTIONS, CATCHES UP WITH LOKI AND ASKS HIM A FEW QUESTIONS. I'M GENUINELY HUGE LOKI FAN, THE ONLY THING THAT COULDA MADE THIS MORE OF A PLEASURE WAS IF WE HAD SOME TEA TOGETHER IN THE SKUD. LETS GET POPPIN!

DO YOU LISTEN YO YOUR OWN STUFF ON A LARGE ENOUGH BASIS TO BE KNOWN AS A LOKI FAN?

Im always listening to my own music because im always working on something new and so I need to be aquainted with it enough to make the right choices creatively. Whats the theme? Where's the journey of the album? Is it through the sound or the lyrics. I apply basic story telling technique to album structure. A clear beginning, middle and end. My albums are getting more consice each time so im learning. I also write everything backwards. If I know how it ends...Ijust need to figure out how to get there. I guess I just love writing and always have since very young, so I get better the more I do it...in most cases. I tend to start working on new stuff midway through a project. An idea hits me then I slowly build it till it becomes tangible. Ive been working on The Uncommon Lexicon for nearly 2 and a half years and now its nearly done Im halfway through The Pantomine Villian album. My next projects are my book 'Amusing Ned'(a book written semi-autobiographically from a range of perspectives which will hopefully serve as an updated thesis on the role of young people in society). a short play called 'So Much for Obama' (about people being trapped underground during Marshal Law but not knowing whats happening above their heads...they'll crave the truth but its too late, ironically) and obviously Volition.

YOU ONCE SAID MANY MOONS AGO, THAT 'WRITTINGS EXCITING, RECORDINGS OKAY.' AND WE ONCE CAUGHT A GLIMPSE OF LOKI THE AUTHOR NOT SO LONG AGO. DO YOU PREFFER WRITTING PARAGRAPHS TO PUNCHLINES? AND WOULD HIP HOP BE SOMETHING YOU GIVE UP IF YOU BECAME THE NEXT ANGELA LANSBURY IF YOU HAD THE SHOT?

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy recording. Especially in a supportive environment. Marrik and Doon are great at making me feel at ease and are also open and constructive with criticism. We have a very positive relationship in our crew. There is mutual respect for what we do individually, and thats why The Being are the best...because nobody sounds alike. We all continue to learn from each other...not even in makin music, but also listening and talking about music. We all have different tastes so we get the chance to check stuff we might not normally gravitate towards. Writing is my real passion. I'm a writer who uses rap as one of many mediums to communicate my observations and ideas. Ive never seen myself as a 'rapper'. Rappers are the lowest form of life! You can tell in my songs that I despise every last one of them and would happily watch them drown in a pool of their own ineptitude. Rappers are fickle. They rely on free speech to get away with saying what they want but don't actually no why they're saying what they're saying. It frustrates me but thats the way it goes. Too many generic emcees with no literary backbone or foresight to challenge the status quo....NOT THE BAND...They rock! I can't give up Hip Hop...I am Hip Hop. The transformative power of Hip Hop is profound...I know...it transformed me on every level and continues to do so. Thats why I feel so strongly about certain things and why I always try and take Hip Hop to people who may not get exposed to it or who have preconceptions about it.

SO HOW FAR DOES YOUR MUSIC TASTE EXPAND TO THEN? WHATS THE MOST SHAMEFULL SONG YOU OWN?

Don't know about shameful...but a track that really put me on a downer was Eminems Just Lose It. Its so bad and makes it very embarrassing to be a fan. Recovery's excellent though! I'll listen to anything if I connect with it. I was listening to The Planets Symphony when I was 9 and I really like Jeff Waynes War of the Worlds. I went to see the live show which was cool. I also like Rodger Waters, though he does seem a bit up his own arse, but I went to seehim at Earls Court and he did the first half all solo stuff and second half Dark Side of the Moon, right through....the theatricality of that show really opens your eyes to whats possible with live music. Even small scale shows like I do could be a lot more engaging if more thought went into lighting and effects. I try to add a bit of theatre to my sets....especially if its not a hip hop crowd. It invites them in and the show goes better. I was listening to lemonjelly today and it was pretty nice.

YEAH YOU PUT ALOT OF NON RAP RELATED ENERGY INTO YOUR SETS, I REMEMBER ONCE STANDING FOR HALF AN HOUR WHILE YOU DID THE BALLOON JOKE. WHICH ENTERS THE QUESTION, DO YOU HAVE ANY CAREER REGRETS?

I like comedy and its an element I explore in rap to varyin degrees of success. Being spontaneously funny is easier than trying to construct a joke. The Baloon joke wasnt actually my joke....I just altered it to make it rhyme and I think it did work on the Between Worlds album....it was just that the skit was too long. Ive been working at writing jokes for years and its a whole other ball game. Im still trying to find my voice but recently Ive been integrating jokes into my sets which actually makes my act more original than a lot of artists whether rappers or comedians. Comedians cant rap. Rappers cant tell jokes. My shows are getting better and im learning through making mistakes. Bill Hicks, George Carlin and Andy Kaufman are big influences for different reasons. Kaufman was so misunderstood and that was his ploy. He wasnt a comic...he was an energy manipulator. That kind of thing excites me. I have often set out to deliberately aggrevate the crowd. I came out as a midget on a skateboard while supporting the pharcyde to the Party Man Prince tune from Batman. Cn't say that doesnt take balls.....did it in Edinburugh too! One regret I have is a gig I did at a fashion show. I had been drinking heavy and was having a bad day so I came out on the catwalk and got tore into the fashion industry. My first line was. 'Is this a fashion show or an eating disorder convention?' It went from bad to worse as a man in a wheel chair began heckling me saying I was a misogoyst...I responded by saying it was funny 'how he was the only man in their standing up for womens rights'. The whole thing ended in a riot and I vomited outside from the stress...I let a couple of friends down that night. Sorry.

WHEN I WAS IN MUH 40'S AND LOKI JUST CAME OUT WITH THE 9TH WORLD LP, I HEARD YOU DID ALOT OF ACTING WORK TOO. WHATS YOUR GREATEST ACTING ACHIEVEMENT BEEN, AND IS IT SOMETHING YOU STILL DO?

Ive done lots of acting. Film and Theatre. Ive always been keen on performing and showing off. I tick all the boxes of an insecure extrovert. My mischievous streak was always in me...its not part of a rap persona. I am actually an opinionated, go against the grain type cunt though Ive mellowed over the years. My skills of persasion and diplomacy have improved! My biggest achievement? I performed a rehearsed reading called Dope Float with proffessional actors at the Citizens Theatre. It was a play about guys holding gear for some guy on a barge in Amsterdam. We turned up on the day, rehearsed and performed it that night. It was very intense but I was told I held my own and I learned a lot. Anyone can act. You have all the tools within you...the tricky part is learning how to tap into them. Ive been involved in community theatre since I was about 10 and even founded a theatre group in Pollok where I wrote and directed a small play called The Rose, inspired by a Tupac Shakur poem which toured Glasgow and Dumfries and Galloway.

WHAT WAS THE LAST FILM YOU WATCHED?

Schindlers List. The internet was broke and I needed a wank.

YOUVE GENERATED QUITE THE FANBASE, WHATS THE WORST RUMOUR YOUVE HEARD ABOUT YOURSELF? I HEARD YOU WERENT REALLY A GINGER, IS THIS TRUE?

Don't know about the fanbase...there's no way for me to quantify it. Often though I do meet people who have heard of me and they say nice things. When I was workin in the schools I was really surprised by how many kids knew who 'Loki' was. My plan from the start was to make Glasgow a fortress and then move out from there..oh and... Check the soap in yer ma's toilet if you want to know whether Im a real ginger. Its toned down on the head but the balls are flamin son! I also had really bad acne at school which was a bit shit. I think thats where I developed my 'lippy prick' streak.

THERE WAS A BRIEF TIME IN HISTORY WHEN I BLACKED OUT FROM THIS SCENE AND DIDNT KEEP MUH EAR TO THE GROUND. IS IT TRUE THAT YOU BATTLED PROFFESOR GREEN?

No. That's a falsehood. He's a good battle mc but as a writer...he's not in my weight class. Respect to him though for his achievements, he'll probably think im a hater...im not. He's nice on the mic but a bit cheesy and predictable. I offered Lowkey a battle years back for the name...he turned me down. Lowkey's an excellent rapper. My favourite UK rappers....Jehst, Mog and probably Chester P. Doc Browns comedy is fucking hilarious.

WHEN WHERE YOU LAST IN THE SKUD OUTDOORS?

Em...let me think. Thats a good question! Don't think ive ever done that before....at least not consciously. I did pull my dick out at bigg taj a few weeks back which was funny coz I never do shit like that...but taj was baiting me masterfully.

AW DYAM, I DUNNO WHO I'M MORE JELOUS OF, YOU OR TAJ! WHO WOULD YOU RATHER BE IN A CELEBRITY SEX TAPE WITH, MICHAEL DOUGLAS OR SHARON OSBOURNE?

Probably Micheal Douglas, he has a more natural looking arse and hasnt had Ozzy Sackbourne riding around inside it.

WHATS YOUR VIEWS ON FACEBOOK AND THE ANTI-SOCIAL-SOCIAL-NETWORKING SCENE? TOO EASY TO STALK AINT IT? OR IS THAT A GOOD THANG?

Any method of communication is good. There are pros and cons to all of it....even all the way back to smoke signals! My concern today is the corporotisation of communication. I feel that we need to be wary of what we're slowly sacrificing for a life of seeming convenience and entertainment. Myspace has been great for me personally. Its allowed me to connect with the people who listen to my music and has also introduced me to new artists I may never have heard of.

HOW DID YOU MEET THE BEING BOYS AND HOW QUICK DID YALL GEL?

We met gradually over a year or so back in 2002 at hip hop nights like Lucky ME and Basement Breaks. We were pretty much the backbone of those nights. Freakmanouvers was a good place for us to meet to. We'd just get drunk and cypher all the time till we became quite known as 'those guys rappin in the toilet'! The crew has changed a lot but thats what the being is. Its not set in stone. If you're shit hot....we absorb you. Its a reflection of our colective consciousness...altering, changing, with the environments and interactions. We are all very close friends. I'd happily walk infront of traffic for any one of them.

YOUR WIERDEST EVER DREAM WAS..?

I dreamed that it was snowing really heavily during an evacuation of the Earth. (Apocolyptic dreams are reoccuring for me)I was with the crew and we were running away from big black vans with tinted windows. One caught up and grabbed a few of them and sped off as large planes and helicopters flew overhead, roaring high up into the sky. We came to a steep hil and tried to climb it but it began to avalanche and one by one all my friends were buried in the snow with only one arm each sticking out. I, at the bottom, could only survive by using their hands to climb to the top and even though they were buried, their hands were still warm, helping me reach the top. I sttod, looking out as the streets grew quiet and the noise of machinery faded...then turned to see my friend Raymond, face covered in thick blood...reaching out to embrace me.....but his arms had all the other dead arms of everyone else sticking out of them. It was a terrifying dream. Ive also had lots of hallucinations, lucid dreams and outer body experiences. Even before the drugs.

I MUCH PREFFER THE LUCID DREAMS. ITS THE ONLY TIME BEKUR STARR SAYS YES TO MARRYIN ME. LETS RAP THIS UP LOKI. I'VE SAVED THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION TO LAST, YOU DONT HAVE TO ANSWER IT IF IT'S TOO PERSONAL OKAY?

BROWN SAUCE, OR TOMATOE?

You dont need a lucid dream to get Becca Starr to marry you....just ply her with booze and banter lol. Red sauce.......even on a bacon sandwich.

Thanks for the interview. I look forward to seeing it up and good luck with your venture. Take care, Loki.

THANKS FOR THE INTERVYOU.

LADIES AND GENTLERMEN, LOKI.
